Launched in December of 2003, The MidCity Advocate is a local community newspaper published weekly. The paper serves central Oklahoma City neighborhoods including downtown, Bricktown, the Oklahoma Capitol Complex, the State Fairgrounds and the Medical Complex.
The MidCity Advocate is targeted toward people who live and work within the MidCity. Our coverage area extends from N.W. 63rd St. to the Oklahoma River and from the State Capitol Complex to Portland Avenue.
The MidCity Advocate appeals to a broad segment of the population both within and outside the coverage area and provides local community information and news. The Advocate is central Oklahoma City's community newspaper featuring local news and information on schools, churches, neighborhoods, businesses, historical preservation, local and state government, entertainment, sports and human interest activities such as weddings, births, obituaries and other community notices.
The MidCity Advocate provides an important advertising and news resource for businesses, shops and restaurants located both within the MidCity and outside the coverage area boundaries. The MidCity Advocate is the only local community newspaper to include City Hall, the Oklahoma County Courthouse and the State Capitol within its coverage area, as well as Oklahoma City's arts and entertainment districts and the area's most established neighborhoods. The MidCity Advocate encompasses all of the best areas of Oklahoma City.
